Okyanuslar daha asitli hale geliyor
Bilim adamları, okyanusların giderek daha asitli hale geldiğini ve bunun deniz yaşamını tehdit ettiğini belirttiler.ANKARA - ABD'nin Chicago Üniversitesi' nden bilim adamları, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences dergisinde yayımladıkları araştırmalarında, okyanusların asit oranının atmosferdeki karbondioksit seviyesinin artışıyla birlikte yükseldiğini tespit ettiler.Okyanuslardaki asit oranının artışına bağlı değişkenler arasında sadece atmosferdeki karbondioksidin farklılık gösterdiğini belirten uzmanlar, asitli suyun artışının bazı deniz hayvanlarına zarar vermeye başladığını ve okyanusların karbondioksit soğurma kapasitesini azaltabileceğ ini ifade ettiler.Chicago Üniversitesi' nden bilim adamları araştırmalarında Büyük Okyanus'ta Washington açıklarındaki (Pasifik) Tatoosh adasında 8 yıl süreyle suyun pH düzeyinde 24 bin 519 ölçüm yaptı.Amerikalı uzmanlar, okyanusların asitlilik oranının, iklim değişikliği ve diğer araştırmalarla tahmin edilenden 10 kat hızlı arttığını belirterek, bu artışın, deniz gıda zincirinde ciddi bir etkisi olacağı uyarısında bulundu.
